Overview

I have always loved playing in the dirt. And I have always loved the concept of functional art. My work has evolved over the years, changing with each experience, yet the foundation remains functional, with my own nature-inspired, graceful style.
I received a BFA in Three Dimensional Studies with a concentration in Ceramics from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Several years later, I apprenticed with a potter in Northern Vermont, where I was introduced to wood-fired pottery. I continued to work there as a production potter for 2+ years.
In 2009, I opened Ocean Fire Pottery in York, Maine and shortly after built my own wood-fired kiln. I create a variety of pieces, from one-of-a-kind wood-fired pieces to mugs for a large hotel to custom wedding registries. While each body of work may require a different energy to create, the process is equally enjoyable.
