Our journey began in 1968 when sailcloth scraps were transformed into tote bags, laying the foundation for Port Canvas.
Today, we uphold this legacy by creating quality canvas goods with our community of artisans and using premium materials. Our offerings cater to the contemporary lifestyle, embracing the values of simplicity, utility, and a joyful lifestyle.
OUR PROCESS
Our commitment to excellence starts with top-quality materials.
We use 100% cotton #8 duck canvas (18 oz. per sq. yd.), sturdy 100% cotton webbing, YKK Delrin zippers (designed not to rust, corrode, freeze, or stick), and sailmaker’s Dabond thread.
The artistry of bench-made craftsmanship comes to life in every bag, thoughtfully stitched from start to finish by one of our skilled female artisans in Maine.
