Tree Spirits Winery & Distillery

All of the apple cider, pear cider, and maple syrup used to create our products are sourced from within 10 miles of our production facility. We turn those ingredients into apple, pear, and maple table and sparkling wines and brandies. We also have created a port-like fortified maple wine and Absinthe Verte. All of our distilled products become winners at international competitions in San Francisco and New York. As far as we know, there no one making wine just from maple syrup or distilling wines in Maine from locally sourced ingredients. No one in New England is making Absinthe Verte. And, we are pretty sure, no one other than bartenders is making Limoncello. We welcome visitors for tastings!

Art Designs by Julie

My decorative painted slates are exclusively from Maine structures built during the 16th and 17th Centuries. Each roof slate is unique in character, thickness, size, and texture. Original roof slates were manufactured by hand following a five step process: cutting, sculpting, splitting, trimming, and hole punching. I hand select each slate and thoroughly clean and prepare them to meet my quality standards and become ready to paint. The antiquated and unique surface makes an ideal canvas for my signs and decorative seasonal themes. Each slate is hand painted and signed by the artist.

Fresh Harvest in a Jar

ss

Fresh harvest in a jar wants to redefine what jams, jellies, butters, curds, and chutneys are – and should be. Each jar is packed full of fresh fruit (and a few vegetables), picked in season, with just enough added sugar to enhance the natural sweetness of the ingredients. We leave no room for preservatives or other additives. All of our products are so pure, so simple, and so flavorful, we don’t have to spread it on thick, but we think you will!

Cup of Sea

ss

Seaweed tea is a largely forgotten traditional health drink of New England and Maritime Canada. Cup of Sea honors that coastal heritage with its handcrafted loose-leaf teas. Wild harvested from the cold, pristine waters of the Gulf of Maine, our seaweeds are then dried and blended with herbal or caffeinated ingredients in small batches in Portland. The seaweeds in our blends contain around 60 minerals vital to health — notably iodine, potassium and magnesium. They also provide vitamins A, B, C, E & K, plus omega 3 & 6, essential amino acids and antioxidants. They’ve been featured by Martha Stewart, Prevention Magazine, the Food Channel, the Portland Press Herald, Bangor Daily News and others. We hope you enjoy them!

James Kroll Fine Furniture

ss

For over 30 years I have been making solid wood furniture and related items of various designs, specific to customer needs. My main focus has been replicating period work made to order using the same techniques and often the same tools as did the original makers of what are now antiques. The joinery, detail and finishing and use of native woods make the difference from something mass produced. See my website for more information and to see some examples of my work.
