We handcraft earrings, barrettes, pins, ornaments, pendants, bracelets, and napkin rings using purchased solid copper, brass, and nickel sheets and up-cycled aged copper roofing.
The sheets are cut to size, inserted into an in-house designed cutting die and placed in our hydraulic press for cutting. The cut pieces are trimmed, hammered, soldered, buffed and cleaned. Then packaged and taken to market.
Lobster Treats for Salty Dogs
Posted by Patricia J Havener & filed under .
We began to look for ideas to market Maine lobster in the summer of 2012 when the boat price for lobsters was very low. After watching dogs enjoy lobster the idea began to make a dog treat. “Lobster Treats for Salty Dogs” were created. Dogs love them! Lobster Treats for Salty Dogs are a home made treat with Maine lobster meat baked in. We use only human grade ingredients, no preservatives in our dog biscuits. Available regular or gluten free. We also make Blueberry Treats for Salty Dogs made with Maine Blueberries and Pumpkin Treats for Salty Dogs. Dog tested and approved!
New 2020 – Lobster Rope Fetch Toys!!! Handwoven monkey fist fetch toys in 4 fun colors. It’s what you make when you’re not lobstering or making treats to eat!
Four Winds Farm

At Four Winds Farm, I make anything fiber art related, from fine art wool pictures and wool sculptures to functional wool dryer balls. Somewhere in between art and function are felted soaps.
My felted goat milk soaps are a collaboration with Maine Made member Knotty Goat Soapery. Shea Rolnick makes high quality all natural soap using milk from her pet goats. I cover the soap with wool and felt pictures on them using wool from my sheep, rabbit and/or local alpaca and sheep farms including sustainable plant dyed fiber from Lana Plantae Farmed Yarns also a Maine Made member.
Whenever I have to out source materials I buy from other small farms and businesses in Maine. If I can’t get what I need in Maine, I buy from small businesses as local to Maine as possible.
Carol Sullivan – Silk Artist
Posted by Carol Sullivan & filed under .
I create one-of-a-kind, hand-dyed silk art, to wear, to decorate your furniture, or to hang on your wall. My paintings are created with permanent textile dyes sourced from around the world and specifically made for use on silk fiber. The shimmer and luster of silk is like no other fabric–a painting on silk is one to be treasured. Maine is my inspiration for many of my designs. I welcome commissions.

I love to combine textures, materials and colors to create unique and functional wearable art. It all starts on Shearing Day when my small herd of alpacas happily donate their fiber to be sorted, cleaned, spun, dyed, knit and woven into warm and useful items ranging from felted soap to scarves and shawls, puppets to ponchos, fringed hats and cozy rugs. Alpaca is wonderful in both natural shades and dyed in a rainbow of colors. I’m also smitten with all the intricate patterns and colors possible snow dyeing silk scarves and squares, especially when you can walk right outside to get the snow!
Festive Fish

Cards, calendars, posters, prints, placemats, coasters, flour sack towels, microfiber cloths, tile trivets, are just a few of the lines I produce.
My work is bold, colorful, whimsical and inspired by the sea. My various lines are reproduced from original art which is acrylic on paper. I am based in Maine and source as much as I can staying local. Every line I produce is made in the USA ~ Yay! This is important to me. And as a result, yes you will pay a little more for an item made in the USA, but it is my hope that the consistency and quality will be worth the investment.
I strive to bring happiness and joy into daily living. Charts are reminiscent of places we love, memories of vacations and time spent on the coast. Oars and Pillows add a joyful splash of color reminiscent of sea life and the sea, where we choose to spend our time. Color in general makes us happy, it engulfs the space and joyfully washes over us. We walk into a happy space and feel it. We smile, relax and feel at home or feel we want to spend some time there. Color nurtures us, we feel it in our soul. My clients want to duplicate this feeling in their living space, to create a space that brings them joy.
Color is my joy! Alison

Fairgame Wildlife
Posted by Mel & Mary Read & filed under .
Fairgame Wildlife offers a natural and appealing series of plush animal mounts. Non-threatening and decorative, these trophies quickly become popular members of family or staff. All are firmly stuffed with non-allergenic poly-fill. Some are finished as shoulder mounts where the fur is pulled tightly over the back insert. Others are mounted on a plaque leaving a frame-like border of finished wood. All arrive ready to hang and enjoy. We keep a large inventory and ship most orders USPS the next business day.
They are in homes, offices, theme rooms, camps, condos, bars and restaurants. We have shipped to every state, the District of Columbia, six Canadian Provinces and a number of countries around the globe. They have appeared in videos, commercials, and theater productions.
We feel that it is important to use American made materials. We buy everything from American-run businesses. Part of our popularity, even overseas, is that our mounts are natural portrayals of North American wildlife.
Ellie’s Daylilies
Posted by Evelyn Richardson & filed under .
The Daylily product comes from a hybridizer that grew the plant from seed. The plant multiplies each year until they have enough to sell to others. The Daylily is a root plant, not a bulb and becomes available by dividing the root. The blooms last for one day but have many buds on each scape. There are thousands of Daylilies registered with The American Hemerocallis Society each unique unto itself plants.
